Shane MacGowan Trail for TV

RTÉ’S Nationwide programme is expected to broadcast a feature on the Shane MacGowan Trail on March 18.

Nationwide visited the Nenagh district in early February to film a television feature on the trail, a tour taking in 11 different locations around Lough Derg associated with MacGowan. Among the stops are Carney, Kilbarron, Nenagh, Borrisokane and Puckane. It features a brochure and a map explaining the significance of each location, which can be downloaded by fans.

The February meeting of Nenagh Municipal District was informed that provision of guided coach tours of the trail is currently being discussed. Cllr JP O’Meara praised the district for the work on the tour as a great initiative to bring visitors to Nenagh and its hinterland.
