Road at Kilkeary to close

A SECTION of roadway at Kilkeary, Nenagh, will be closed for three days in late August to allow roadworks to take place, public representatives were informed at the July meeting of the Nenagh Municipal District.

Area Engineer Barry Murphy said a significant resurfacing job would be taking place in the townland, which would result in the road having to close from Augsut 25-27. Diversion will be put in place.

Cllr John Carroll congratulated the council’s outdoor staff on the quality of roadwork repairs that have been carried out over the past several months. He said the standard of the work was excellent.

Cllr Fiona Bonfield said more funding from the government was badly needed so that further roadworks could be tackled in the district.
