Conserving the Governor’s House
Tipperary Co Council has received grant funding for conservation of the Governor’s House in Nenagh’s Historic and Cultural Quarter.
The nineteenth century was building was once part of the town’s gaol complex before being used by the Sisters of Mercy as a school. It is now home to Nenagh Heritage Centre and North Tipperary Genealogical Centre.
Grant funding of €37,500 has been secured for conservation works to the windows and doors of the building under the Built Heritage Investment Scheme. The May meeting of Nenagh Municipal District was informed that tender documentation is being drafted.
