Talk on heart health
Age Friendly Roscrea had Catherine O'Donnell, newly-appointed Cardiac Rehab Co-ordinator, based in Nenagh, to speak to us about heart health. Catherine and her colleague Mary, spoke about preventing heart problems through lifestyle choices, listening to your body and attending to any symptoms you might notice promptly.
Regular check-ups with your GP and practice nurse are recommended. Catherine will have a physiotherapist on her team as well. The purpose of the Cardiac Rehab Team is to bring Rehab into the community making it more accessible for everyone. This is a very welcome development in our healthcare services.
Our next information talk will be on The Supported Decision-Making Service on Tuesday, June 3. This is an important service which is particularly good for advanced health care decisions, planning ahead for your future care and legal decisions that you wish to make. It's a subject that many of us don't want to discuss but we should be our own decision makers where possible. This may be an opportunity for you to put your plans in place or start a discussion.
For information on any of our services, please call 0505 22550 or 089 4682164.
