Lee Hogan (Rathcabbin) came second in the Under 21 class in the North Tipperary Ploughing.The North Tipperary Ploughing Championships reached a significant milestone last Sunday on reaching its 60th anniversary. This represented six decades of hard work, dedication, and positive impact by the members and volunteers.
Participants showcased their ability to plough a plot with precision and efficiency, the weather was perfect, the site was top class and the contestants as well as the spectators came out in droves.
Not for the first time, the organisers came up with an excellent site, the fertility of the land owned by the Swan family, Cloughjordan, by kind permission met with an overwhelming nod of approval.
The organising committee were thrilled by the numbers of participants who travelled from East Cork, Kilkenny, Laois, Offaly and further afield making up over 40 in total. It was indeed a fine display in celebrating 60 years of turning the sod in North Tipperary.

Senior: 1st Christy Carton, 2nd Alan Davis, 3rd Larry Bergin
Farmerette: Here the winner was Edel Burke Curtin ploughing in her first ever match Three Furrow Conventional: first: Ciarán Milne. second: Tom Ryan.
Vintage Trailor: first: Sean Murphy, second: Pat Connolly, third: Liam Morris.
Classic: first: Francis Worrell, second: John Cavanagh, third: Trevor Hogan.
Horse: The winner here was Gerry North.
Novice: first: Rob Duffy, second: Dan Dooley, third: Michael Hall. Iron Horse winner was Francis Naughton.
Junior: first: Ethan Harding, second: Tom Duffy. third: Jim Green. Reversible: first: Jimmy Ryan, second: Daniel Dwyer, third: John Bracken.
Mounted Vintage: Here there was a big entry with first: Tom Beausand, second: Ray Clancy, third: Phelim Cotter.
Single Furrow: first: Trevor Fleming. second: James Hough, third: Andrew Hogan.
Under 21: first: Jack O’Meara, second: Lee Hogan, third: Billy Moroney.
