Ballina talk on sailing

A talk on sailing will take place at the Lakeside Hotel in Ballina/Killaloe on Thursday, February 29.

The talk, organised by Killaloe Sailing Club, is entitled ‘The Importance of Sailing and Where it can take you’ and will be given by Kenny Rumball.

Kenny runs a successful sailing and water activities school and is also an accomplished dinghy and offshore sailor. He is also the main provider of marine support for the television and film industry.

As well as his sailing activities, Kenny was involved in the making of Vikings, The Banshees of Inisherin and the new RTÉ series, Blackshore, which is filmed in the Killaloe/Ballina area.

Join us to hear where the Viking boats came from, how they were transported and the logistical challenges of filming on and off the water.
