Lighting of hospice tree of remembrance in nenagh

The North Tipperary Hospice Movement would like to thank all of those who came to last Saturday's Christmas Tree of Remembrance Ceremony outside Nenagh Courthouse.

Local author Donal Ryan switched on the lights at the ceremony, where each light represented a loved one gone by. There were readings from local clergy at the ecumenical service and there was music from the Silvermines Folk Choir throughout the ceremony.

The Christmas Tree will be outside Nenagh Courthouse until January in memory of those gone by. Each person commemorated in the booklets will be entered into the North Tipperary Hospice Book of Remembrance, which will be on display in Nenagh's public library. A mass will also take place for all of the names entered in the book of remembrance this year.

No donations were required at this year's ceremony; instead the event was a 'thank you' to the local community for their generous support throughout 2014.
