Music, songs and stories
Our July Rambling House was another evening of great music, songs, and stories. We had a few summer visitors from Moycarkey/Borris singing beautiful songs. At the tea break, it is heartwarming to see people reconnecting with old friends, sharing stories and enjoying the chat.
Another visitor from Dublin, Fiona Bolger and her colleague, Sandra joined us on the night to promote a project starting in September called ‘Tipp of our Tongues’.
Funded by the ETB, Fiona is looking for people to participate in a fun literary project where people are writing poetry or stories and exploring culture, language and expression. All languages are welcome. Contact fbolger@tipperaryetb.ie for more information. Fiona read one of her own poems on the evening and another by Pat Bracken that he had written at the taster session in Roscrea Library earlier that day.
Our next Rambling House is going to be on Tuesday, August 18, hosted by Roscrea Heritage Society as part of Heritage Week. Please note the change of date.
While most of our groups are on a short break for a few weeks, we are still here in the building. You are welcome to our Drop-in Thursdays – call in with a friend or two for a chat, game of cards, craft or just a cup of tea. Contact our office at 0505 22550 or 089 4682164 for further information.
