Farming for Nature farm walk in Tipp
Join the upcoming Farming for Nature farm walk with Farming for Nature Ambassador Tony Grogan in the Glen of Aherlow, Co Tipperary.
Taking place on Saturday, May 23, at 11am, the walk will offer visitors a chance to see how Tony manages his organic Aberdeen Angus suckler farm with biodiversity, soil health, farmland habitats and water quality at its core.
Farming beside the River Aherlow SAC, Tony uses low-input farming methods, including long-rotation grazing, habitat restoration and natural soil-building practices. Visitors will hear how these approaches support both farm productivity and biodiversity, while helping to create a resilient farming system.
The walk will include practical discussion around grazing management, farmland habitats, biodiversity-friendly farming and working with nature on marginal land, offering valuable insights for farmers interested in integrating biodiversity into their own systems. These walks are informal and friendly - they are an invaluable opportunity to see practical farming for nature in action!
