Good weather for walking
With the evenings getting longer we are looking forward to getting back to some walks we couldn't do during the winter months and exploring what Ireland has to offer. Last Friday night we had no walk due to no leader being available.
Well done to our members that took on The Knockmealdowns Challenge at the weekend. Perfect weather for the challenge with several members joining the A,B and C walks on the day. Our walk this Friday night, May 1, is The Silver River Loop at Cadamstown and probably one of the best river walks in Ireland. Distance: 6.5 Km, Time: 2 hours and Graded: Easy/Moderate.
Meeting at The Silver River Trailhead in Cadamstown at 7pm. Our charity walk this year will be in aid of The Offaly Branch of Alzheimer's Ireland with a BBQ on Sunday, June 21. The next and final section of The Slieve Bloom Way is on Sunday, April 3, from Monicknew to Glenbarrow Carpark, a total of 17km. We would encourage anyone thinking of taking up hiking for better health or as a way to destress to please make contact with the number below. To join the group and to see what the club has to offer please follow the contact details below.
