Busy times at Newport College

Bank of Ireland visits

Thanks to Amie from Bank of Ireland who visited the school to work with Fifth Year students in a CV and interview workshop. Students gained a valuable insight into the world of work, and this will stand to them as they apply for work in the future. Students have also started the journey of setting up a school bank in the school with the help of Bank of Ireland.

Hurling and Camogie

Our U15 hurlers participated in a blitz in Cashel before midterm. Students played against Cashel Community School and CTI Clonmel. Well done to our First and Second Year camogie team who took part in another blitz in Carrick-on-Suir! The girls played brilliantly in their first outing of the year and showed great teamwork and spirit throughout the day.

Mid Term Exams

Well done to all students from Third and Sixth Year who completed their mid-term exams before the break. Students tackled the exams with focus and determination. A crucial step in preparing these students for the State exams in the coming months. Best of luck to all.

Tidy Towns

Second Year students continued their partnership with Newport Tidy Towns. This week they planted bulbs at the entrance to Mulcair Manor that will bloom just in time for Spring. Thanks again to Newport Tidy Towns for partnering with Newport College for their Active Citizen Campaign.

Halloween Treats

Our Home Economics students were busy in the kitchen making some Spooky Cookies in preparation for Halloween.
