Press photographers exhibition in Nenagh
Nenagh Municipal District is delighted to announce that the Press Photographers Association of Ireland have kindly agreed to allow us to exhibit the collection of images from the AIB Press Photographer of the Year Awards 2024 at the Civic Offices, Nenagh.
This collection of images is a record of our history but is also a testament to the incredible skill of the press photographers. The images which grace our Concourse include the award winning photo of a burning bus on Dublin’s O’Connell Bridge during riots in Dublin City Centre; images from the funerals of Shane MacGowan and Sinéad O’Connor; the late Charlie Bird with his wife and dog climbing to the Papal Cross, as well as epic sporting moments and wonderful pictures of nature and the environment.
The exhibition will be on view Monday to Friday during office hours (9.30am to 4.30pm) up to June 27.
LAUNCH
There will be a launch of the exhibition at 6.30pm on Tuesday, June 18. Special guest at the exhibition will be Tara Brady, the Tipperary Rose.
On the occasion, we are absolutely thrilled that Alan Betson from the Irish Times, overall winner of the AIB Press Photographer of the Year Award 2024, will be present and will do a presentation of his work and give a talk on same in the Council Chamber. Paul Sherwood from the Press Photographers Ireland CLG will also be present.
All are welcome.
