The Tipperary Association Dublin has announced updated details of the function to present the Tipperary Person of the Year and Hall of Fame Awards for 2023.

The Two Johnnies – Johnny ‘Smacks’ McMahon and Johnny ‘B’ O’Brien – were chosen as the Tipperary Person of the Year for 2023 while song writer/composer, Brendan Graham will be inducted into the association’s Hall of Fame.

The function will take place in the Louis Fitzgerald Hotel, Newlands Cross, Dublin on Saturday week, April 27.

Announcing the details, the Tipperary Association Dublin President, Tom Sherlock, stated that the function will commence at 1.30pm with photographs. The association plans to have some of Brendan Graham’s songs performed by Paul Harrington (of ‘Rock & Roll Kids’ fame) followed by lunch. Patrons are advised to arrive at 1.30pm.

Mr Sherlock thanked the two sponsors of the award trophies - Louis Fitzgerald of the Fitzgerald Group and Willie Aherne of the Palace Bar, Fleet St, Dublin. The trophies are by renowned sculptor Jarlath Daly, a native of Tipperary Town.

He went on to say that the Louis Fitzgerald Hotel will offer a special rate for bed and breakfast to those attending the function - please contact the hotel directly (01- 4033300).
