‘What a day!’
On behalf of Tipperary County Council, Nenagh Tourist Office, Nenagh Live and Spain AV, we would like to express our gratitude to the people of Nenagh and its surrounding areas for attending this year’s annual St Patrick’s Day celebrations.
The sun was shining, the people were singing and music echoed throughout the town as over 4,500 people walked through the gates of Nenagh Courthouse.
Rosemary Joyce, District Administrator, said: “What a day; the attendance was simply amazing! It was fantastic to see the town come alive; indeed we had over 3,300 people visit Nenagh Tourist Office alone. Each and every one of them decked out in green celebrating this amazing town of ours with good humour and lively conversation. Roll on next year!”
Banba Square was alive with colour, music and entertainment to suit all ages and tastes while Nenagh Courthouse car park was as it was originally intended, a hub of local people, entertainers, food stalls and artisan crafts enjoying each other’s company and all the best that Nenagh has to offer.
Festival Director David Spain, Spain AV, said: “A day like today makes me proud to be a part of Nenagh! The people, the festivities, the entertainment and the crafts; we are the envy of every town in the midlands.
“A huge thanks to all the volunteers, stall-holders, artists, performers, emergency services and local organisations that came together to celebrate this great town of ours. This year’s event was the culmination of many months of planning and given the response and support we have received thus far, we are delighted to announce that, local support willing, in 2025 we will incorporate Nenagh’s first St Patrick’s Day parade since 2019 as part of what has become a landmark event in Nenagh town’s yearly entertainment calendar.”
