Tipp speed limit review

Tipperary Co Council will commence a review of speed limits on the county's roads following consideration of the introduction of 30kmph limit in urban areas.

Director of Services Marcus O'Connor told this month's meeting of the council that a 30kmph speed limit for all town centres in Ireland is being considered. The Department of Transport is to make a decision at the end of the year.

Mr O'Connor said the council generally reviews speed limits every five years or so but would await the outcome of the national consideration before proposing any changes.
