‘Anything Is Possible’
Popular local man Nicholas Ryan-Purcell of Cloughjordan and Nenagh has written a book about living with autism.
Award-winning filmmaker Nicholas became nationally known after releasing his documentary film ‘This is Nicholas: Living with Autism’ in 2018. It was screened in 28 Irish cinemas, featured on RTÉ’s Nationwide, and led to Nicholas appearing as part of a panel on the Late, Late Show.
Now Nicholas has written a book titled ‘Anything Is Possible - Learning To Live With My Autism’. He describes the 229-page book as a labour of love since February 2021.
“I chose to write a book because no social gatherings were permitted during lockdown and I decided to challenge myself with writing a book,” Nicholas said. “I felt fortunate to have had a very good editor, Mary Cahalan, from Ballingarry, County Tipperary near Nenagh. She was a TEFL teacher for 40 years until retirement.
“This is a non-fiction story about the determination by family and influential people to help me overcome obstacles and show me that ‘Anything Is Possible’.” Several bookstores, including Eason in Nenagh, Sheelagh NaGig in Cloughjordan and Bookworm Thurles have agreed to stock the book, which will be available to purchase from the end of this week.
