Junior ‘A’ Hurling Championship: The semi-finals of The Watch Centre sponsored North Junior ‘A’ Hurling Championship took place last weekend which saw comfortable victories for Borris-Ileigh and Nenagh Eire Og. On Saturday in Nenagh, Borris Ileigh had an impressive 1-17 to 0-5 win over Toomevara whilst on Sunday in Borrisokane, Nenagh Eire Og ran out eleven point winners over Kilruane MacDonaghs, 2-23 to 2-12.

Nenagh will be looking to claim their first North Junior ‘A’ title since 2014 when they defeated Kiladangan 0-13 to 1-9. Borris-Ileigh will be looking to bridge a 43 year gap after their one and only North Junior ‘A’ title victory in 1978. Best of luck to both sides this Saturday in Dolla at 4.45pm.

Junior ‘B’ Hurling Championship: The semi-finals of The Watch Centre sponsored North Junior ‘B’ Hurling Championship took place last Sunday. Silvermines continued their excellent form with a 3-17 to 3-9 win over Ballina whilst Kiladangan had a hard earned 0-16 to 1-10 victory over Borrisokane.

The final will take place this Sunday in Toomevara at 3.00pm. The Championship final will see a repeat of the League final where Kiladangan edged Silvermines 0-20 to 2-13. Silvermines are current holders of the North Junior ‘B’ title after they defeated Portroe in last years final. Kiladangan will be looking to win their first North Junior ‘B’ title since 2006 when they defeated Portroe

Junior ‘C’ Hurling Championship: There are two remaining games to be played in the group stages. Ballina will host Kilruane MacDonaghs whilst Roscrea will host Borris Ileigh.

Kiladangan, Roscrea and Ballina are all safely through to the semi-finals with Kilruane and Borris Ileigh fighting it out for the remaining spot.

Under 19 Football: Last Wednesday, Borrisokane and Lorrha Rovers played out an exciting game in Ballingarry in the North ‘B’ semi-final. The teams could not be separated during play with the sides finishing level, 3-8 to 2-11. This resulted in a penalty shootout where Borrisokane were victorious 4-1. They will now take on Newport in the final on Wednesday 13th October at 8.00pm in Ballingarry.

The North ‘A’ Football final between Kiladangan and Ballina will take place this Wednesday 6th October at 6.15pm in Puckane.

Under 17: Both Nenagh Eire Og and Toomevara lost in the County Under 17 ‘A’ quarter finals last weekend. Toomevara lost to St Marys 2-14 to 0-11 whilst Nenagh were defeated by Carrick Swan 0-10 to 0-5. In the ‘B’ quarter finals, Borris Ileigh defeated St Patricks 1-17 to 1-12 whilst Newport lost to Clonmel Og, 2-16 to 2-3.

Under 15: Congratulations to Roscrea who claimed the North ‘A’ title last Saturday after a 4-14 to 5-8 win over Ballina. The ‘B’ final will take place this Saturday at 12 noon when Clonakenny/Moneygall face Lorrha.

Under 13: Well done to Borris-Ileigh who booked their place in the County U13 ‘A’ Hurling Final after a 3-14 to 3-6 victory over Cahir last Sunday. Hard luck to Burgess who lost to Killenaule 2-11 to 2-5 in the ‘B’ County semi-final whilst Moneygall were unfortunate to lose out by a single point in the ‘C’ semi-final against Skeheenarinky, 1-6 to 0-8 . Nenagh Eire Og were victorious in the ‘D’ semi-final, defeating Father Sheehys 3-6 to 2-1.

The County Finals take place this Sunday 10th October. Borris-Ileigh will take on Durlas Og in the ‘A’ final whilst in the ‘D’ final, Nenagh Eire Og take on Holycross/Ballycahill.
