Juvenile Gaelic Football Festival for October

The Tipperary Football Committee have launched the Michael Hogan Festival of Football which will see all-county football blitzes taking place on two days in October.

The festival is part of the drive to continue to raise the standards across all parts of the county at juvenile level and ensure that all children get the opportunity and encouragement to develop both their own skills and an interest in and love of the game.

In line with this objective the Football Committee, in conjunction with the Friends of Tipperary Football, the County Juvenile Committee and Tipperary Coaching & Games Development will hold the 'Michael Hogan Festival of Football' with and U11 competition on Saturday 16th October, with an U13 competition on Saturday 30th October.

Both competitions will be similar in format to Feile Peil at U15 level. Each venue will host eight clubs with two groups of four. Teams will be graded as per feile/peil on a county wide basis. So far, over 90 teams have entered into the Under 11 competition

One of the aims of the Tipperary Football Committee is to raise the profile of Gaelic Football within Tipperary and to maximise the amount of opportunities for players of all ages to play the game.

With both the commemoration of the events of Bloody Sunday and the Munster Senior Final success of last November, the last twelve months has been a memorable period for Tipperary Football. The hope is that this Football Festival will be a fitting end to this period for all involved.
