Having become an integral part of Tipperary hurling over the past decade, Portroe are now proving their credentials as a rising force within the world of gaelic football, and could end the year with a Junior 'A' county title, if all goes to plan.

Last Saturday saw them record a convincing win over an outclassed Ballylooby/Castlegrace, finally managing to extract revenge for last year’s semi-final defeat – which occurred at the hands of the South Tipp side.

That 2018 game was played in glaring autumnal sunshine in Holycross. 370 days later, the weather conditions were similar, the location slightly different – Annacarty, twenty minutes down the road.

Portroe’s grip on this game was evident right from the throw-in, but it was the impact of two first-half goals which truly cemented their dominance, creating a gulf between the sides which Ballylooby never managed to narrow.
