Toomevara came from behind to put themselves back up into the senior ranks for 2020 after producing a great second half performance to defeat Thurles Sarsfields on Sunday in the County Intermediate Camogie Championship Final.

Favourites Thurles Sarsfields were looking to go up to senior for the very first time but it wasn’t to be as for the second year in a row they fell at the final hurdle to a determined Toomevara side.

Toomevara last won a senior title in 2004 and in recent times have fallen back through the grades where they were beaten in three consecutive county junior ‘A’ final’s before finally breaking through last year and have made their stay in the second tier a brief one as the return to the senior ranks next year.

The had to do it the hard way though as the first half belonged to Thurles Sarsfields who led 2-4 to 0-4 after 25 minutes. But what a fight back from Conor O'Sullivan’s side as they fought to the very end in a terrific battle.
