Public meeting in Toomevara on beef agreements

There will be a public information meeting on the recent beef agreements agreed at Backweston, Kildare and Agriculture House, Kildare Street, Dublin last month. The information meeting will take place in the Toomevara GAA centre this Thursday, October 10th, at 8pm – Eircode: E45KH48.

The meeting is specifically to introduce farmers to the contents of the beef agreement and also the concept of the PO - producer organisation as a mechanism whereby farmers are able to collectively negotiate prices with meat processors. This is an important meeting for all farmers both dairy and beef, who are dependent on earning a living from livestock. Farmers are invited to attend and a questions and answers session will also take place.  There will also be an opportunity for farmers to join the PO on the night.

All are welcome. Speakers on the night will include Eoin Donnelly, national executive, Beef Plan Movement, Dermot O'Brien, Chairman, SW region, Beef Plan Movement and Catherine Guest, Tipperary Beef Plan Movement.
