Tipperary captain Samantha Lambert was beaming with pride after her side made a return to the Senior Championship, following Sunday's five-point win over Meath at Croke Park.

Lambert had just lifted the Mary Quinn Memorial Cup for the second time in three years.

I'm so privileged to captain such a great bunch of players inside in that dressing-room. I couldn't be prouder of the whole lot of them,” she said.

I'm just so honoured to be selected as captain by the management over the last three or four years. It's a special moment for me.”
Lambert was impressed by her sides display, and paid tribute to their dedication and commitment over the year.

They have given everything all year,” she said.

We have really come together as a family nearly at this stage. I'd do anything for them, and I'm sure that they would do anything for me. It showed out there today, we had each others backs and we defended together and we attacked together.

I know at half-time we knew we hadn't performed to our potential, and we just said 'we have to attack together and we have to run off each others shoulders'.

That's what we did in the second half, we opened them up a few times and that's the difference.”
