Tipp's attacking approach paying dividends

There’s something just a little bit special about this Tipperary team.

Maybe it’s the fact they’ve become trailblazers for ladies football in an expanding era of women’s sport. Based on last Sunday’s ferocious second-half performance, you get the sense that 2018 was more of reconnaissance mission for Tipperary – a chance to test the waters at the top-tier and plan for future endeavours.

They now have a concrete game-plan, a high-octane attacking style which manager Shane Ronayne and his players developed over the course of the league. It’s an approach which maximises the team’s potential, and although it took them a while to shift up through the gears on Sunday, their haul of 20 points was enough to indicate that this is the right brand of football for Tipp.

“Yeah, look, we decided in the league that we’d take teams on - I think we were the third highest scorers in Division 1, which was testament to the game we were trying to play,” he said.
