Nenagh Ormond finished off their season in the best possible fashion, with an impressive win against promotion seeking Navan last Saturday afternoon.

After clinching survival in a dramatic encounter the previous weekend against Blackrock in Dublin, Ormond could afford to kick back and have a free shot at a Navan side who still had their eyes on points to improve their promotion prospects via the playoffs.

What transpired was an excellent free-flowing game which ended in another tight win for the home side; a good way to see out a season that was rife with uncertainty, but this game ended the season in style for Ormond who can now look forward to another season in Division 2A in 2019/2020.

In what was a much changed Nenagh team from what we’ve seen throughout the season, with the likes of John O’Flaherty and Alex Ropeti occupying the centre positions, while there were starts for Italian Carlo Mengechello and Colum Moylan; this did not effect the cohesion of the performance, as they threw off the shackles of the season and played some excellent carefree rugby.
