Borrisokane reel in Commercials to reach semi-final

Borrisokane’s huge second half effort paid dividends big time as they came from five points down to shock a fancied Clonmel Commercials in the County Intermediate Football Championship quarter-final on Sunday.

Commercials looked the team with all the answers in the first half as they moved into an interval lead of 0-8 to 0-5. They extended that advantage with the first two points of the second half but from then on it was Borrisokane who called the shots, a brace of goals by Colm Larkin being the decisive scores as they claimed their place in the last four.

Borrisokane’s success can be put down to their determination not to be outmanoeuvred by their highly rated opponents and while they were hanging on doggedly in the first half they still showed they had the ability to create goal chances.
