Nenagh’s finest Brendan O’Donoghue has yet again put Tipperary snooker on the map with his latest achievement on the green baize by receiving a very prestigious invite to play in the ACBS Asian Tour.

Recognised by the controlling body for world amateur snooker, the ‘International Billiards and Snooker Federation’ (IBSF), the New Institute club man will join 23 other players in Qatar from the 26th until the 29th September.

It is yet another fantastic moment of recognition for the Tipperary cue-man who recently retained his Munster singles title in the Munster Close making a 135 top break at that tournament, which carries on a fantastic season for O’Donoghue.

Brendan made it through to the semi-final of the Men’s European Snooker Championships in Sofia in Bulgaria last April and he has received the invite to play on the Asian Tour because of his high ranking at that event.

On the eve of the start of the RIBSA Senior Ranking series O’Donoghue is delighted to get the invite and said: “I am thrilled to be going over to Qatar, it is a huge honour and it is a fantastic event.
