Dunne struggles to comprehend Tipp's minor collapse

By James Hayden

Tipperary manager, Thomas Dunne cut a very disappointed figure and struggled to comprehend the nature of Tipp’s defeat to a Waterford side that appeared dead and buried with fifteen minutes left in the Munster minor championship clash with the Deise on Sunday.

Unbelievable, it was unbelievable. It was an awful match to lose, just can’t get our heads around it,” he said.

As to whether Tipp's third game on the trot had impacted upon their performance, Dunne dismissed the possibility of fatigue playing a factor in Tipp's defeat.

I don’t know if we were fatigued, we made a good few changes. Sean Phelan was cramping and we changed Max (Hackett) in the middle of the field and we had a change made at half-time so I don’t think it’s that.

The fact of the matter is that we missed an awful lot of chances again today and we conceded a lot of frees so it was all stuff within our control,” he said.
