'A' Final: Inane Rovers 4-4 Ballina 2-4

A better all round Inane Rovers side regained the North Tipp Under 14 'A' Football title after a two year gap when defeating a game Ballina side in Portroe last Friday evening.

Leading from start to finish the Roscrea side had too much strength and guile against a Ballina side whose defence were much too porous allowing wind assisted Inane to dominate the opening half.

In claiming their 16th North Under-14 title Inane sit one behind Nenagh Eire Og in the Roll of honour as the Roscrea side finished with fourteen men when midfielder Dale Collins was sent off in the final minute following a second yellow card offence. Collins was one of Inane’s stars with Ryan Thompson, Eoin Larkin, Lee Doran, and Tommy Murphy among others leading the way.

'B' FINAL: Newport 4-2 Moneygall/Clonakenny 1-10

This was a thoroughly enjoyable game in which it was a pity there had to be a loser but Newport’s ability to score goals, at vital junctures was the difference at the end last Wednesday in the North U14 ‘B’ Football final in Portroe.

'C' FINAL: Borrisokane 4-4 Shannon Rovers Gaels 1-4

3-2 from Ciaran Foley helped better equipped Borrisokane side defeat Shannon Rovers Gaels in an exciting North Under 14 'C' Football final last Saturday. The 11am start didn’t dampen the enthusiasm of the two sets of players in this eleven a-side contest.
