The cast of Nenagh Choral Society's 2018 production of 'My Fair Lady'

'My Fair Lady' returns to Nenagh!

This week sees Nenagh Choral Society welcome Eliza Doolittle back to the stage of the Scouts Hall, 44 years after her first visit in our 1974 production and 27 since her last appearance in 1991.

This show has become a tradition for the society and holds a fond place in the hearts of all who have performed in it. In this year's production we have seven members of the 1991 cast returning to perform again - Greg Browne, Donald Swan, Gerry Scanlon, Tom Lawlor, Tommy Maguire, Teddy Morgan, and the only lady returning, Margaret McGee. Under the direction of Greg Browne, Director, William Cullagh Musical Director & Stephanie Browne, Choreographer, preparations for the show have been ongoing since October 2017 and we are now delighted to present to you this classic from Lerner & Leowe.

As an added bonus, we are honoured to have in our possession the original coat worn by Julie Andrews in 1958 when she played Eliza Doolittle in the Theatre Royal in London's Drury Lane. Our production is one of the very few since then to have that privilege. We are certain Alannah will fill the coat, as well as the shoes of the iconic women who have played the role before her and take her place in the history of this great show.

'My Fair Lady' opened at the Scouts Hall on Tuesday and runs nightly (8pm) until Saturday March 24th. Our box office is open from 10am to 5pm Monday to Saturday or tickets can also be booked on 086 3122725. Book now to avoid disappointment!
