Nenagh premises sold

Two commercial units on Nenagh's main street were sold prior to auction last month.

The units – one of which is currently occupied by Eir, the other formerly occupied by Lulu's ice cream parlour – are contained within 19 Pearse St, which was advertised for auction with an advised minimum value of €450,000.
The premises comprises two ground floor commercial units with substantial upper floor accommodation and extensive car parking to the rear. The ground floor unit on the left was the former First Active Bank and is currently occupied by the Eir shop. The unit on the right was the old Post Office and subsequently Ulster Bank, Roots restaurant, and then Lulu's ice cream parlour and sweet shop. 
The property was offered for sale with full vacant possession and/or pending a new lease of Unit A to excellent covenant tenant.
The upper floors of the rear annex form part of an old convent and have not been occupied for some time and are in need of refurbishment.
Local auctioneer Eoin Dillon of REA stated that the old convent would make an exceptional restaurant or art gallery, subject to planning and substantial works. There is a large car park to the rear which comprises of circa 377 square metres, which has delineated car parking for 18 cars.
Mr Dillon confirmed that the premises was sold to a local investor for a figure close to the asking price.
