Cloughjordan artist at work in nenagh
Cloughjordan artist Siobhán Leonard will be running art classes in Nenagh in September.
Siobhán offers exciting and evocative contemporary fine art and prints for the home and business.
She will be giving a painting demonstration at Nenagh Library on Wednesday September 2nd from 10.30am to 12pm. She will also be giving art classes for beginners at the Belfry in Steeples Bookshop, O'Rahilly St, Nenagh starting from Thursday September 10th for six weeks. This is especially for beginners, covering the basics of colour, form, perspective etc.
And Siobhán will also be running ‘abstract painting classes’ for beginners to intermediate level at Nenagh Arts Centre on Monday evenings (7-9pm) and Tuesday mornings (10.30-12pm), starting September 14th and 15th respectively.
Based in Cloughjordan, Siobhán's work is abstract in nature, creating ethereal spaces of emotional connection to a reminiscent landscape. Through a process of layering, whether by palette knife or by brush, Siobhán creates moments of serenity that are both rewarding and evocative.
Siobhán set up an Irish artist collective along with four other Irish artists in Brussels. ‘Greenwall Art Collective’ has exhibited in Brussels and Luxembourg during the Irish Presidency of the EU in 2013.
Originally from Cobh, Co Cork, Siobhán started her artistic career at Limerick College of Art and Design, where she studied Fashion Design before going on to work in photography for 12 years. She returned to study Fine Art at GMIT Galway and soon after moved to Brussels in 2006.
Siobhán has been working and exhibiting in Belgium for six years and has just returned to Ireland last July to set up her studio and gallery - ‘Windmill Studio’ - in Cloughjordan.
Siobhán’s style is simple and fluid. She uses gestural brush strokes and, with an instinctive feel for colour, expresses her emotional reaction to the landscape around her. She is a professional member of ‘Visual Arts Ireland’ and UNESCO’s 'Association Internationale des Arts Plastiques'.
The Cloughjordan based artist has also exhibited internationally at art fairs and exhibitions, and at the internationally famous ‘Affordable Art Fair’ in London and Brussels. She is also represented by a number of Irish and British galleries, and has been involved in several local exhibitions.
