Entries still open for tour de cappawhite

The Grand Tour might well be in full swing in France but a tour of a different kind will interest many local cyclists this Sunday with the Tour de Cappawhite.

The second edition of this race will see riders cycle through West Tipp/East Limerick villages in what is a fundraising event for the local Cappawhite GAA and Ladies Football clubs.

There are three distances of 100km/50km/10km (for kids and families) with the West Tipp village to welcome cyclists from at home and beyond for what is becoming a popular event.

300 cyclists took part in last years event with a similar number set to take part once again.

Due to the interest in the event, it is advised to register online prior to the day. There is also a registration evening this Thursday, 16th July for locals to sign up while you can also register on the day from 9.30am for the fully marshalled event.

The 100km races starts at 10.30am with the 50km att 11am and the 10km at 12.30pm. Entry is €25 for adults, €5 for kids while there is also a family option. Each competitor will get a free t-shirt while food will be provided after the event.
