First meeting of new bereavement group in roscrea

A group of volunteers came together last October to establish a bereavement project for the community of Roscrea and surrounding areas.

The aim of the group is to provide support and information for adults in our community bereaved and on their personal grief journey.  The group is very fortunate to have been trained and supported under the Compassionate Communities Programme by Milford Care Centre.

One of the actions of the group is to hold two drop-in meetings per month where people can come have a cup of tea with other adults grieving the loss of a loved and get support from the volunteers.

The drop-in meetings will take place on the first Friday and third Wednesday of each month.  The first drop-in meeting will take place on Friday next, 5th June at 11 a.m. to 12 noon.  All adults are welcome and the venue will be the new St. Cronan’s Parish Centre Legion Hall, Abbey Street, Roscrea. Further details can be had by contacting the group Chairperson Eileen Kennedy on 087-2947895.
