Tynan to earn fourth U20 cap

Head Coach Peter Malone has named the Ireland U20s side, sponsored by PwC, to face Samoa tomorrow in the 9th Place Semi-Final of the World Rugby U20s Championships.

The game will take place at the Avchala Stadium in Tbilisi, with a 1pm (local time) / 10am (Irish time) kick-off.

In the front-row, props Jordan Duggan and Peter Cooper will start alongside hooker Ronan Kelleher. Fineen Wycherley and Oisin Dowling are named in the second row.

Captain Paul Boyle starts in the back-row, with Gavin Coombes on the opposite flank and Caelan Doris at number 8.

Jack Stafford starts at scrum-half, and is partnered by Conor Dean at out-half.

Ciaran Frawley and Gavin Mullin will renew their centre partnership for the 6th time this season.

In the back three, Alan Tynan starts at full-back, with Calvin Nash and Michael Silvester on the wings.

Instonians wing Mark Keane, who joined the squad over the weekend as an injury replacement will be looking to win his first U20s cap from the bench.

At today's Captain's Run in Tbilisi, Malone said: 'Things didn't go to plan in the pool stages, but now it's about digging deep and looking to get a result against Samoa.

That's not going to be easy as they caused problems for their opposition throughout their pool games and we know they're going to be very physical.

The players know what lies ahead tomorrow and they're very focused, and really up for this game.”

The match will be broadcast live by Eir Sport, and it will be available to watch via www.worldrugby.org in certain countries.
