Cahill challenges Under 21's to lift county mood

Tipperary under 21 hurling manager Liam Cahill is more than acutely aware that there is a lot more focus that usual among the locals on his team ahead of this Thursday’s Munster semi-final against defending champions Limerick.

Off the back of the seniors early exit from the Munster championship, attention turns to who might inject that youthful spark into the panel next year and get the Premier County motoring again at the highest level.

Reaching a Munster under 21 final would go along way to grabbing the attention of senior boss Michael Ryan.

“We are aware of that as players and management that the real genuine Tipp supporters are crying out for a team to follow,” admitted Cahill.

“We are going to do all in our power to give them that sort of a performance on Thursday and hopefully if we give that performance the result will follow.

“Definitely, it is important we put some enthusiasm back into Tipperary hurling as a result of the last few weeks."
