1,500 fire service calls in Tipp

Tipperary Fire & Rescue Service attended 1,500 emergency calls up to December 14th last year.

The local service was successful at the recent National Irish Safety Organisation awards, winning the award for best Safety Management System in the Public Service for the fourth year in a row. The award demonstrates the very high emphasis placed on the safety of firefighters in Tipperary.

In addition, Tipperary Fire & Rescue received a 'Consistent High Achiever' award, which recognises organisations that have performed at the highest level for each of the last five years. Tipperary has the only local authority or emergency service to have ever won such an award.
