Ballycommon native James Seymour has been appointed by the Cabinet as County Registrar for the County of Tipperary.
Mr Seymour is a son of Jimmie and Mary Seymour of Monsea, Ballycommon, Nenagh and former student of Carrig NS and CBS Nenagh. He attended the National University of Ireland, Galway, and was awarded Student of the Year at his graduation in 1998. He qualified as a solicitor in 2001 and had offices in both Galway and Nenagh.
Prior to this appointment, Mr Seymour practised as a Partner in the firm of Berwick Solicitors of Galway and Dublin, specialising in commercial and civil litigation. In 2010 he also qualified as a solicitor in England and Wales and in Northern Ireland, and as a Notary Public in 2011.
Mr Seymour is an associate member of Chartered Institute of Arbitrators of Ireland and he has served as President of the Galway Solicitors Bar Association, Chairperson of the Galway City and County Citizens Information Centre, and member of the Litigation Committee of the Law Society of Ireland.
