Certs for Special Olympics volunteers

Ten volunteers from Ormond Special Olympics Club successfully completed their Assistant Coaches course recently.

The course was organised by club Head Coach Pauline Nugent and run by Athletics Ireland. It is a prerequisite for advancement to the Level 1 Athletics Coach qualification.

 

Pauline said: “It is brilliant that so many of our club volunteers are showing the commitment and perseverance to enable them to have a more active role in coaching the athletes in our club and assisting them in reaching their potential.”

 

In May, four of the volunteers will go on to do their Level 1 Coaching qualification, with the remainder completing their qualification later this year.
