Nenagh band's Mid Life Crisis!

Mid Life Crisis are a new Nenagh band who are exactly what it says on the tin.

With a combined age of nearly 250, these lads have come together to play the music that they love and that you will love. Local lads Davy Richardson, Ger Richardson,Tommy Foley and PJ Connolly have been entertaining in and around Nenagh long before the internet, MP3 players or CDs.

After performing together for a charity event recently, the lads decided to form a band for charity performances and Mid Life Crisis was the name that they felt was most appropriate.

Tommy Foley explained: “We have all done lots of charity events. We have all played in different bands but often find ourselves meeting up to play together. We love all sorts of music, so we decided to form a band that does rock, acoustic and classic songs as well as writing a few songs ourselves. It will be nice to give something back to the community.”

The band recently performed together in Ballycommon hall to film a video for a song that Ger Corrigan had written for the upcoming Ballycommon Sponsored Ride. The song, 'Let's All Do the Ballycommon Ride', was an enjoyable experience for the lads. Davy Richardson said: “It was great to get a chance to support something that is raising funds for such deserving work.” The lads are also composing a song called 'Mid Life Crisis'. PJ Connolly said: “Every band should have a theme song and we felt that this one was a great title.”

Ger Corrigan has written the band's first single and it will be released at the end of March. The song, titled 'That Boy is Just Notorious', is a rock and ballad fusion dedicated to Conor McGregor. The lads are currently recording the song and expect the video to be a big hit.

While some people want to buy a motorbike or a sports car when they reach the mid life crisis, the lads' ambitions are purely musical. “We just want to play the songs we love for the people who love music and help some deserving charities at the same time,” said Ger Richardson.

Mid Life Crisis will soon be playing the songs you love at a charity gig near you. Charities interested in contacting Mid Life Crisis can call Tommy at 087-1715692.
