Tipp house prices up 5%

The price of the average three-bed semi in Tipperary has risen 5.04% to €138,125 in the last three months, according to a national survey carried out by Real Estate Alliance.

The REA Average House Price Survey concentrates on the actual sale price of Ireland's typical stock home, the three-bed semi, giving an up-to-date picture of the property market in towns and cities countrywide to the end of Q3 this week. According to local REA agents there is a lack of supply in the market and this could potentially cause problems in the medium term.

Nenagh, in particular, is seeing large growth over the past three months as buyers compete for suitable housing, causing a 12.5% rise since June from €120,000 to €135,000, according to REA Eoin Dillon.

Prices in Clonmel are up by 0.95% in the same period while Newport has risen by 7.69% and Roscrea is static.

The average three-bed semi nationally now costs €200,093, an increase of €4,732 (+2.42%) since the end of June. This is a rise of 6.37% against the same time last year.
