Northern Lights Beckon for Team Sepam Sport on Ulster Rally

This weekend, Team Sepam Sport head north to Derry for the John Mulholland Motors Ulster Rally; round 6 of the Clonakilty Blackpudding Irish Tarmac Rally Championship. Brothers Pat and Gus Kearney take their Gerry McGarrity prepared Mitsubishi Lancer Evo 9s to the Ulster stages to do battle in the Group N category.

Pat is returning after missing Donegal and the Stonethrowers due to business commitments to secure a top 3 placing in the category in the championship, partnered as always by Cork’s Alistair Wyllie. Having secured a victory on the Circuit of Ireland and a 2nd in Killarney, they are hoping for another clean run in Ulster.

Younger brother Gus is making the trip north to keep his title hopes alive. He is currently lying 2nd to Cork’s David Guest. Despite an early retirement on their home Stonethrowers Rally in Clonmel, Gus and fellow Tipperary man Tommy Hayes are encouraged by the pace shown in their brief home appearance and have high hopes for their upcoming Northern adventure.

The rally commences on Friday afternoon and will finish on Saturday evening, with stages traversing the closed roads of Derry and Tyrone. As a counting round of both the rish Tarmac Championship and the British Rally Champonship, a great entry was always guaranteed and this promises to be an event to remember.
