Sergio Peterlini will give a conference on ‘The Power of Meditation’ at the Castletroy Park Hotel on Thursday June 16th.

 

Admission is free to this event, which begins at 8pm. Sergio will inform you about a simple, effective technique to find inner balance, eliminate tension and relieve everyday stress.

 

 

What is meditation?

 

Meditation means profound silence. It is a state of profound, deep peace that occurs when the mind is calm and silent, yet completely alert. The practice of meditation releases an extraordinary reserve of energy within us. What manifests through this energy base is a new life.

 

 

What are the benefits of meditation?

 

The benefits of meditation are manifold. A calm mind, good concentration, clarity of perception, energy- which are crucial when facing challenges in life – are all natural results of meditating regularly. Scientific studies have shown that regular meditation as effective in lowering stress levels and anxiety as well as helping brain cells to regenerate, activating the body’s ability to heal itself. Meditation benefits both those who are searching for answers to life’s fundamental questions- Who am I? Where am I going? What is the purpose of life? Is it possible to find happiness and where can it be found? - as well as those who are facing difficulties and need to ‘recharge their battery’ in order to maintain their psycho-physical wellbeing. For effective practice, one only needs to dedicate a short period of time each day.

 

 

Who can practice meditation?

 

Anyone! Meditation is not limited to a particular belief system, religion, gender, race, ethnicity, age group or class. One’s philosophy or religious belief is not important. Meditation is about awareness. Therefore, meditation can, and is, practised by people from all walks of life. Anyone can learn to meditate if there is a correct and valuable teaching.

 

 

How is the meditation course organised?

 

The course takes place over a period of four consecutive days. There is a daily session, roughly two hours long. It is very important that participants attend all four days. In order for the course to be accessible to all, it has always been completely free of charge. Further information regarding scheduling will be given during the introductory presentation.

 

 Who is Sergio Peterlini?

Sergio Peterlini has taught meditation for over 40 years in Europe and India to tens of thousands of people from all over the world. The schools and colleges where he has helped implement meditation have seen significant improvements in the academic performances of their students. Over the years he has spent a considerable amount of time in India, where he has a retreat centre in Tiruvannamalai. Weekly advanced retreats are also held at the centre in Assissi, Italy.
