Borrisokane Man progresses to final stage of 'The Voice'

Borrisokane man Pauric O'Meara has secured a place in the Live Knockouts on the 'Voice of Ireland'!

On Sunday last, the second week of the 'Battles' took place and resulted in 9 more contestants securing a place in the final stage of the competition, the 'Live Knockouts.' Among these contestants was Tipperary's Pauric O'Meara, who from the very beginning of the competition, got all four coaches to turn for him and also became a favourite to win by BT Sports!

Pauric now, after securing his place in the competition, has been opted by Boyle Sports to win the 'Voice' title. Aoife Heffron, PR Executive for Boyle Sports has confirmed this by stating that Pauric has “tightened his grip on the Voice of Ireland title after a very successful battle” and that “the Tipperary native is now on offer as the 11/4 favourite from 3/1 to win under Team Bressie.”

Representing Team Bressie, Pauric went up against Swords native Karen Lousie singing their rendition of 'Have You Ever Seen the Rain' by Credence. The battle proved to be a very challenging choice for coach Bressie, who stated that the decision was “sincerely difficult.” His fellow colleagues seemed to feel the same way as former Westlife singer Kian Egan said that the performance was “beautiful” and “felt like a real duet.” After much deliberation Bressie made the decision to bring Pauric through to the next stage. As for Pauric's opponenent Karen Louise, the judges were given the oppertunity to “steal” her away for their team. However, it seemed that Kian Egan did not learn from Una Foden's mistake last week, and hit the button too late just as the 5 seconds ran out, eliminating Karen's chance at a place in the Live Knockouts.

Joining Pauric in the final stage of 'The Voice' will be Team Una's Nigel Connell and Eimear Crealey, Team Bressie's David Idioh, Team Kian's Darragh Lee and Laura Doyle and Team Rachel's Laura O'Connor along with two steals Marc Egan and Sophie McDermott.

Pauric has been massively successful so far and has now made it to stage that will be totally dependant on the votes of the public, rather than the judges! So be sure to support him as he continues to sing his way up the scale in an attempt to win the title of 'The Voice of Ireland' and secure a contract with Universal Studios!
