John and Jacki O'Connor will perform at Killoscully Community Centre this Saturday night.

Traditional music album launch in killoscully

Traditional Irish music album 'The Hills of Old Kilcolman' will be launched in Killoscully Community Centre this Saturday, October 10th.

It is the debut music album from siblings John and Jacki O’Connor from Kilcolman, Ardagh, Co Limerick. There is a Tipperary connection to this album as Jacki now lives in Killoscully.
This album is dedicated to their late father, Jackie O’Connor, who passed away from cancer in 2008. Jackie spent some time in Milford Hospice before his passing and net proceeds from the sale of this album are going to Milford Hospice, Limerick.
John (button accordion) and Jacki (concertina) are joined by some accomplished guest musicians on the album. These include Martin O’Malley (guitar), James O’Connor (bodhrán), Jack O’Connor (cajon) and Paddy Donovan (bones).
The album also features four songs. One of the songs - 'The Mountainy Men' - is sung by a good family friend Tadhg Maher, who hails from outside Roscrea. 'The Mountainy Men' song represents the hills and glens around Keeper Hill, near where Jacki now lives.
A launch night for the album will take place on Saturday October 10th in Killoscully Community Centre, Killoscully at 9pm. There is an open invitation to all to come along to the launch night and enjoy some traditional music and song. Visit their Facebook page for further details at www.facebook.com/thehillsofoldkilcolman. Net proceeds in aid of Milford Hospice, Limerick. All support greatly appreciated.
