Cd launch in silvermines

Silvermines native Liam Gleeson will launch his first album on Friday August 21st in Buddy's Bar, Capparoe at 8:30pm.

Liam, a native of Capparoe, has spent over a year choosing the right material and working with local musicians to bring this CD to market. Musicians on the album include Peter Maher, Frankie Coulahan, Theresa Larkin and Kathleen Costelloe, all working with the CD's musical director Kevin Carroll.
The CD is a mix of well-known Irish and classical favourites, as well as some original songs written by Roscrea's Seamus Doran and the late Billy Collins of Capparoe. Particular traditional favourites include 'The Voice of an Angel' and 'Fare Thee Well Love', with classical numbers from Moulin Rouge such as 'Come What May', and from Blood Brothers' 'Tell Me It's Not True', among many others on this 12-track album.

In addition there is a bonus original track sung by Liam taken from Seamus Doran's album 'Believe', also recently released.
Liam is accompanied on a number of duets by well-known local soprano Sheelagh Chadwick, who has played a big part in encouraging him to release a CD, and the album was mastered and produced locally at Middlewalk Studios under the expert hand of Peter Maher.
The launch night promises to be a great event with guest performances from AmaDeus (Theresa Larkin, Kathleen Costelloe & Sheelagh Chadwick) and The Silvermines Folk Choir, as well as Nenagh's own Hughie McGrath joining us on stage.
Liam has dedicated this album to his late mother Ann, who passed away four years ago from cancer, and was a large part of the driving force that got him interested in music. During her illness, Ann received huge support from North Tipperary Hospice and Suaimhneas so he has decided that half of all the CD sales on the launch night will be donated to North Tipperary Hospice / Suaimhneas in recognition of their great work.
A night not to be missed!!
