Blow to nenaghs heart

The heart of Nenagh's town centre has suffered another blow with the impending closure of two stores at the Market Cross.
Galvin's menswear and 5th Avenue ladies fashion shops have both confirmed news of their closure, leaving empty premises on three of the four corners at Market Cross.
The ceasing of trade at Galvin's represents the end of an era for a store that opened 46 years ago and was run by two generations of the family. They will be starting a closing down sale next week.
5th Avenue on the opposite corner of the cross has been trading in Nenagh for the last six years and only recently relocated to Market Cross. It has already commenced its closing down sale.
There is however some optimism around a third corner on the cross now that a sale has been agreed for the long-vacant former Irish Nationwide building.
