Tipperary County Council is pleased to announce that Castlelough Playground and Multi-Use Games Area is now complete and open to the public.

The playground includes a five-tower senior unit, two-seat senior swing, a three-tower toddler unit and a two-seat junior swing.  The five-tower senior unit, which caters for children aged 6-12 years, has eighteen individual play elements to test motor and coordination skills, climbing skills, balance and hand-eye co-ordination. The three-tower toddler unit, suitable for children aged 2-6 years, has twelve individual play elements to test various skills and also allow for passive play.
The multi-use games area, which measures 240 square metres, is an all weather sports facility to accommodate a wide variety of sports and games.
Cathaoirleach of the Nenagh Municipal District Council, Cllr Fiona Bonfield, welcomed the opening of the playground and multi-use games area, which she stated is an excellent addition to this scenic area.  She stressed the importance of facilities of this nature in encouraging children to develop their fitness levels and participate in regular exercise to combat the dangers to health from obesity and to contribute to healthy lifestyles.
