Development options for borrisokane old church

The NTLP Training for Community Volunteers continues on November 19th, 7.30pm in Borrisokane Old Chruch, with a special session on Creating a Business Plan for your community organisation.
The evening will commence with a brief presentation by Arthur Guest, who will share some of his experience from 19 years involved with the Old Church. Then John Kennedy will give an overview of how to put together a business plan for your community organisation.
There are three remaining sessions of North Tipperary LEADER Partership's community enterprise training programme focusing on Borrisokane Old Church. The Old Church is facing closure with the retirement of the directors of Tipperary Lakeside Development Ltd, which has run the space for the last 20 years.

Progress to date

Following the information meeting on October 15th about the future of Borrisokane Old Church, NTLP has delivered three sessions of a training programme for community volunteers in association with Tipperary Lakeside Development Limited and Borrisokane Community Forum.
These sessions covered Governance & Volunteers (Session 1); Managing the Finances (Session 2) Responsibilities of Companies & Director (Session 3). Slides and handouts from these sessions are available on request. The remainder of the programme will look at exploring the potential of running the Old Church on a sustainable business footing.

Remaining Sessions

This Wednesday night's session (November 19th) features John Kennedy and Arthur Guest. On the following Wednesdays, there will be two final business planning sessions. These will take a detailed look at the financial viability of options for the space, which would allow it to remain open and developed as a community and enterprise resource for Borrisokane and the surrounding area.  If anyone is looking for further information please contact gfitzgibbon@ntlp.ie or call 085-7409023.
