16bed extension for nenagh hospital

The HSE has submitted a planning application for the development of a 16-bed ward extension at Nenagh hospital.

The proposed development is to consist of a refurbishment of existing ward accommodation to the south east of the hospital and the provision of a new single storey extension. This is to incorporate 16 single bed wards and ancillary accommodation, all at ground floor level. The application includes all ancillary, associated, enabling works and temporary provisions together with a rerouting of a section of the existing campus access road.
The HSE's application states there is no proposed increase in the hospital's bed number complement as a result of the new extension, which is intended to relieve overcrowding and/or unsuitable accommodation elsewhere within the campus.
