Nenagh choral society to stage phantom of the opera

From October 31st, for nights nights only, Nenagh Choral Society will stage the fantastic musical 'The Phantom of the Opera' - youth group production.

The society as a whole are delighted to be staging this musical, which will be the first in the recently renovated Scouts Hall. Under the production team of Greg Browne, Laura Kearney and William Cullagh, the now well established youth academy of the society will stage this show and have been granted full performance rights from The Really Useful Group.

Rehearsals for this full production show began in August and the cast and crew have been working really hard in order to make every aspect of this show a success. This is the fourth production by the youth academy in NCS and the young members, all under the age of 21, continue to amaze and inspire with their dedication and enthusiasm shown for each production.

'The Phantom of the Opera' tells the story of the gruesomely deformed Phantom who lurks beneath the stage of the Paris Opera. For years, he has been frightening all its occupants with his occasional appearances. He ends up falling fatally in love with the young soprano Christine, devoting himself to training her to become a star. However, when she rejects him and falls in love with her childhood friend, Raoul, the Phantom instigates a murderous rampage.

Tickets, priced €15, for the show go on sale Thursday 23rd October from the box office in the Scouts Hall or on 086 3122725. With only three shows, early booking is advisable. 'The Phantom of the Opera' runs from Friday October 31st – Saturday November 1st at 8.15pm and Sunday 2nd November at 5.15pm.
